The spacious Empire Hotel was built by Andrew Lund in 1908 on the corner of Main Street and 2nd Avenue. Les Fox was proprietor, then Harvey Rogers took over. Fox and Fred St. Amour again ran the business until Alex Cyr came in the late 1920’s. Mr. Cyr had moved over to the present hotel before the Empire Hotel burnt in February 1927.
